Sunday at approximately 4:49 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of a man shot in the vicinity of West 36 Street and Surf Avenue, in the Coney Island neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. Upon arrival, officers observed an 18-year-old man identified as Javon Johnnie with a gunshot wound to the chest. EMS responded and transported the victim to NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn where Johnnie was pronounced dead. There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing."
