SCJ Haley got his law degree from St. Ignatius College in San Francisco. He served as city attorney for San Rafael as well as district attorney. He was a former chairman of the Republican Central Committee of Marin Co. Gov. Goodwin Knight appointed him a municipal court judge in 1956 and Gov. Pat Brown named him to the superior court in 1965.
