Every day in the U.S. about 108 people are shot dead in one way or another. At GunMemorial.org we try to post pages for all of these people even though the circumstances of their deaths can be drastically different.

Donnell Thompson Jr., age 27

Fatally shot on July 28, 2016 in Compton, California.

L.A. county sheriff's deputies shot Donnell dead when he allegedly "charged at them." They thought he was a carjacking suspect, but he had nothing to do with the crime and was unarmed.

Family members described him as gentle and soft-spoken. He enjoyed playing Uno at El Camino College's Compton Center, where he also attended music classes for people with mental disabilities
